About me

I am a researcher in statistics at the Data Science Institute (DSI) of Hasselt University. Here I am part of the Center for Statistics (CENSTAT) and the Simulation Models of Infectious Disease (SIMID) group.

My research is primarily focused on modelling (time-varying) dependence in multivariate censored data. More recently, I have ventured into the world of infectious disease epidemiology, where I am currently looking at multivariate serological data where censoring occurs due to lack of information on the time of infection. In the same context, I am also working on the development of a framework that combines within-host antibody kinects and population-level characteristics to infer infection risk based on longitudinal as well as (serial) cross-sectional samples. My PhD research is under the supervision of Prof. Anneleen Verhasselt, Prof. Steven Abrams and Prof. Niel Hens.

I obtained a BSc in Physics and a MSc in Statistics and Data Science at Hasselt University. My thesis titled “Modelling multivariate clustered left-censored data by using copula functions” was completed under the supervision of Prof. Roel Braekers.
